PayByPhone set out to evolve beyond parking payments, aiming to become the all-in-one driver companion app. A key part of that ambition was bringing EV charging into the platform, giving drivers a single place to find, pay for, and manage their charging experience.

Integrated into their product team, I led the strategy and design of the feature, reimagining how drivers locate and filter chargers through a redesigned mapping experience. To validate the journey, EVs were taken out to real chargers, testing the experience in the field rather than relying on assumptions made at a desk.

The outcome was a reimagined charging experience that positioned PayByPhone as more than a parking app, laying the groundwork for their evolution into a true driver companion.
